Fibro fog is a killer sometime!! I think it is trying to evaporate but it's causing a storm in the meantime inside my head. It's like my body is in turmoil. I want to do things but my body says no and punishes me with pain for such active thoughts! Also my mind is racing with thoughts of things to do that it gives me a slitting headache!
Speaking of racing thoughts....yep up all night and morning! So did some TV watching can't remember what (lol), read (also don't remember all I've read!) (double lol), played some farmville and to top it off did some knitting!!! Finally slept for a few hours and now all bright eyed and bushy tail, but no energy to enjoy the day!
I have some recipes and photos to share but my brain and fingers are in a fight right now and don't want to work together! Got a new laptop after some begging/grovelling to my husband....with the promise to pay back the money! Why you ask am I telling you this is because I need to transfer files and pics from my old laptop to the new laptop! Not that it is difficult but when your mind goes blank sometimes and you forget what your doing....need I say more! So I'm hoping for some clarity later to night so the transfers can begin! Not to mention I need to call mircosoft and tell them that I'm taking office off my old laptop to I can use it on my new laptop! That will be an interesting conversation, because my brain and mouth are also feuding!
Ah fibromyalgia is such a delight to live with! Please let me know how your day is going!!
Aloha

Easy Roasted Turkey Drumsticks for a Fibromyalgia Diet
Hello:
Today I’m sharing a quick, easy and tasty recipe with you. Roasted turkey drumsticks with assorted potatoes. I used a mix of potatoes red, gold, purple, sweet potatoes with fresh rosemary and olive oil.
Purple potatoes are rich in antioxidants, the red potatoes are high in vitamin C, and cholesterol-free. Gold potatoes that have more intense yellow color of the flesh have higher the vitamin A levels, which promotes good vision, healthy skin, and improved immune system. Sweet potatoes are a good source of fiber, Vitamin B6, potassium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Manganese.
Eating fresh vegetables and fruit is important for a fibromyalgia diet. I've learned we should avoid canned and processed foods, they are toxic to us, that’s why my recipes may be simple but they are healthy and good for you. You can always add more spices if you like.
Ingredients:
2 turkey drumsticks
1-2 sweet potatoes
2 each of the coloured potatoes (Trader Joe’s has a mixed bag of the red, purple, and gold potatoes) if you don’t have them available just use sweet potatoes
1 sprig of fresh rosemary
2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Easy directions:
1) Rinse the turkey drumsticks and place in a cooking/roasting dish with a lid.
2) Sprinkle with garlic powder (and any other spices you may like).
3) Cut the potatoes and arrange in dish.
4) Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil across all the ingredients (I use a garlic flavored olive oil from Costco).
5) Rinse off some fresh rosemary and sprinkle on the turkey and potatoes.

Cover and cook at 325⁰ for about 1½ -2 hours until the meat pulls from the bone.
Hey and don’t forget the salad!
As an added bonus you can make soup, which I did! In the same dish, with the bones and juices, I covered the bones with water. While it was coming to a boil I cut up two zucchinis, smashed 5 cloves of garlic and added it along with some shredded carrots I had on hand. Added them to the bones and once it came to a boil, turned it down and let it simmer for an hour. The great thing about making soup, you can put whatever you want or whatever you have on hand in it (salt to taste). That goes with spices also add what you like, I put a couple of dashes of cayenne pepper in it for a little kick!
When reheating the soup I may add some more fresh vegetables for some more nutrients.
Hope you enjoy! hugzzz

Sleep?!
Not having a good day/night. What do you do when you can't sleep? I either watch tv and if nothings on, read. Although they tell you not to read in bed I find that hard. If I read in the living room and get tired...ready to sleep...then I have to walk to the bedroom, which will make me wake up instead of sleeping.
But if I read in bed until my eyes are heavy I can turn off the light and pretty much fall asleep right then. Same with the tv just turn it off and sleep or sometimes I need it on to fall asleep. It helps me to focus on something other than my pain, get lost in a story or a movie (sometimes block out hubby's snoring tooo :o).
So drink your water!! That's what I need to do also!!

Fibro update
OK gluten free is harder than I thought. Maybe its just the thought of not having flour goods. Haven't made the cookies yet but will make them this week, and let you know how they are.
Juicing seems to be helping me again. Cucumbers, celery, fennel are refreshing and help with inflammation, add an apple or a pear and it's good to go. I hear that licorice tea is helpful, but only to be taken 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. I just need to find a health food store that carries it.
I was turned on to a pretty good website for vitamins it iHerb.com. Haven't tried it yet but the prices seem pretty reasonable. Hope it helps...let me know how it goes.
I hope to be adding some recipes and helpful information in the future.

Fibromyalgia diet update
Wow didn't realize I started this fibromyalgia blog is June.
OK update am trying to change my diet to see if it helps with my fibromyalgia. I have eliminated yeast and its's seemed to help get rid of most of my stomach pains. So now I am going gluten free. Yeast free was hard I didn't realize yeast was in so many things I liked. Cheese, soy sauce, most sauces weren't allowed either and of course sugar. At least cheese is allowed with this gluten free diet, so that makes me happy!
I bought some gluten free oats at Trader Joe's. There's a recipe on the back for gluten free cookies, so will try it and let you know how they turn out (course there is the matter of sugar!). It calls for peanut butter but will substitute almond butter. Only because peanuts are not good my for my blood type.
Now just need to work on exercise but thats for another day! : )

Fibro update
Hello....I am going to try and start this again and write everyday for a year. If you have fibromyalgia you know this will be a challenge...with fibromyalgia fog rolling in every now and than. For instance tonight can't think of how to spell a word I want and spell check doesn't know what I'm talkin about!
Well I got a memory foam bed off craig's list. Tonight is the first night to sleep on it! Did I mention its a California king bed...yes finally have the big cal bed. Been waiting a few years to get one. Husband finally broke down :0! Hope this will mean many good nights of sleep ahead. At least I feel less movement when hubby turns in bed yessss. Less waking up means less painage for me! (um yes I sometimes make up my own words...so please bear with me!) ; )
My goal for this fibromyalgia blog is to help others with fibromyalgia, with information of things that I've tired. Hopefully once others find this, they can share what works for them.
Vitamin B3 has been helping me, I take 5000iu a day. I finally found a pill with 5000iu I take it at night to help prepare me for the next day (of course always ask your doctor before taking any new vitamins as I am not a doctor or have any medical training!).
OK that's it for now!
